Since our resounding victory
at the European election in June 1999 when we doubled our MEPs,
we have been Delivering for Britain . Conservative MEPs have
been playing their part:
At home we
have been out on the streets supporting party workers and our
colleagues at Westminster and in local authorities.
In Europe we
have been pushing for reform, working hard in the European
Parliament to promote and defend British interests.
And we have been making a
difference; the European Parliament has joint decision-making powers
with national governments in many areas of EU law. We have been
successful in scrutinising and amending draft EU legislation in many
key areas such as the single market, the environment and consumer
protection.
Our manifesto - "In Europe, not
run by Europe " - set out how Conservatives intended to use the
powers of the European Parliament to change the agenda in Europe .
This report to the Party and its members sets out, by subject area,
how the Conservative MEPs have been achieving results -- how we have
been Delivering for Britain .

enjoys his job as Member of the European Parliament taking
up constituents' cases and campaigning on their behalf to
represent firmly their views as the European Union
