"Since
Milton Keynes became a unitary authority a decade ago, Milton Keynes
Council has largely been run by the other two parties, Labour and
Liberal Democrats, sometimes individually and sometimes (as at
present) operating as a Liberal-Labour pact.
Although some good things have happened over this period, the public
are fed up with the scale of the mistakes and failures, the failure
to listen to the public, the loss of direction, and the lack of
leadership.
Independent experts such as the Audit Commission say that Milton
Keynes does not deliver good value for money. Indeed, it charges
more and delivers less than most other comparable urban high-growth
unitary authorities. Milton Keynes deserves better!
Many parts of England are now enjoying better services and better
value. They are under good Conservative control. Milton Keynes
Conservatives are ready to deliver improvements in services, better
value for money, and will lead Milton Keynes towards a better future
for all."
